Mark Johnson, Homer Roughton and Bruce Williams Memorial English Scholarship

2.5 GPA. Must have completed 12 units at Golden West College and enroll in a minimum of 12 units at GWC or a State College or University in the Fall; English major.
This scholarship is a blend of the Mark Johnson, Homer Roughton, and Bruce Williams Memorial English Scholarships, and is given to a student who is an English Major. Mark Johnson was a courageous and talented young man who was a student at GWC and editor of the school newspaper, The Western Sun. Mark’s family established this scholarship in his memory. The Homer Roughton scholarship was established by the Friends of the Seal Beach Library, as well as other friends and family members, in memory of June Hopkins’ husband, Homer. Bruce Williams was the Public Information Officer and Director of Community Services at GWC until his death in 1982.
