Bernard Gilpin Merit Scholarship for Physics

Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Must have completed 12 units at Golden West College, completed at least two physics major courses at GWC (Physics 185, Physics 280, or Physics 285), and enrolled in 12 units for the upcoming Fall semester.

Bernard (Bernie) Gilpin was a dynamic instructor who delighted in sharing his love of physics through caring and laughter. The Bernie Gilpin Merit Scholarship for Physics honors a talented physics student who exemplifies diligence, good humor, and grace while working in this challenging field. Like Bernie, this student not only excels personally but he helps others excel as well. This student helps fellow classmates see that physics is to be loved, not feared, and that it is a subject to be enjoyed for a lifetime.
