Gladys Lavoie Scholarship

Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. Must be a student receiving services from GWC DSPS program. Student should demonstrate perseverance, determination to succeed, and a level of accomplishment.

To honor Gladys on her 75th birthday, GWC friends and family established the Gladys Lavoie Scholarship. Gladys is an alumna of Golden West College. She received her AA in Early Childhood Education while raising her own eight children and providing daycare for four others. Gladys retired in 2009 after being a dedicated District employee since 1979. She touched the lives of her co-workers by her friendly, caring ways, which earned her the honor of Classified Employee of the Month in November 2004, and Employee of the Year for 2004-2005.
