Noreen Yoshida-Peer Scholarship

The student must have completed 12 units at Golden West College and have a 3.0 GPA or higher and be currently enrolled in a minimum of 12 units at GWC. Must also be involved in campus and/or community service as a volunteer while intending to transfer to a four-year institution. Should have a financial need. Prefer a student-athlete or have a major in Business, Education, or Computer Technology.

Those who know Noreen and even those who have not met her, understand the influence and generous nature of this fine lady. A special concert was held to “Honor the Lady”, designed to endow a scholarship in the name of a true friend who is fighting cancer. Noreen is an alumna of Golden West College. She has also worked at GWC for over 36 years and was named the very first Classified Employee of the Month when the program started back in March 1991. Her passion is to help others in any way she can and has received several awards from a variety of volunteer organizations for her volunteer work while working full-time and pursuing her AA, BA and MA degrees.
