Judy and Ron Shenkman Scholarship

Awarded to a single-parent who is either in a career or transfer program with a minimum 2.5 GPA; must have completed 12 units at Golden West College and enroll in a minimum of 12 units at GWC or a state college or university in the Fall.

The Shenkman family has supported education for 40 years, formally beginning when Ron became a classroom teacher with the Los Angeles Unified School District. In the years following, he served in many positions, both elected and as a volunteer, to advance the quality of our local schools. Family members, including Judy, are past students at Golden West College. Ron and Judy are strong believers in the role of community college in the total education spectrum and are pleased to award this scholarship.
