Fred Hoover Memorial Scholarship

Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. Must be a student athlete on the baseball team and demonstrate outstanding citizenship in the community.

Fred Hoover was the first baseball coach and a charter faculty member at Golden West College. Over a 21-year span, he amassed over 400 victories and was inducted into the California Community College Hall of Fame. He and his wife Barbara were fixtures in the Golden West College athletics division until Fred passed away at the age of 81. Barbara and her family want to support and encourage student-athletes in the baseball program with this scholarship.
