Valerie Venegas Servant Leader Scholarship

Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, must have completed at least 12 units at HWC and enroll in at least 12 units at GWC or a state school in the Fall.

Valerie Venegas served as the Student Activities Director for 22 years at Golden West College then moved to a different management role as the Scholarship and Event Coordinator for 11 years. In her over 33 years at the college, she was devoted to teaching students leadership skills. She valued servant leadership as a quality that all effective leaders must process when moving an organization forward. She ended her career receiving 6 ICC Advisor of the Year recognitions and two Advisor of the Year recognitions from AGS State Honor Society and was presented the Peace Studies Award. Her love for the students was her funding forth in all she did.
