Kathryn M. Thurmond Memorial Scholarship

Accounting/Business major with a 3.0 GPA. Must have 12 units or 2 semesters completed at GWC
This scholarship is given in memory of Kathryn M. Thurmond. Ms. Thurmond was a single parent and a professional and dedicated businesswoman who acquired an accounting/income tax practice from her father and served her clientele for over 30 years. As past President of the Rio Hondo chapter of California Accountants, she demonstrated professionalism in business and the importance of continuing education. As a loving mother, she encouraged her children to set and achieve goals and reap the personal reward that comes from “a task worth doing is worth doing well.” In her spirit, this scholarship may provide the same encouragement, support, and reward to its recipient for perseverance and achievement while completing his or her educational goals.
