Dr. Kenneth D. Yglesias Scholarship

1) Nominations must be accompanied by an essay that describes specific accomplishments and qualifications of the nominee that demonstrate how the student exemplifies Dr. Yglesias’ belief of “Let change be the challenge.” 2) Must have a current college services sticker and be enrolled at GWC. 3) Scholarship: must have completed at least 21 units at GWC with a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.5. 4) Leadership: must demonstrate qualities of leadership at Golden West College and/or the community. Must demonstrate concern for the welfare of the future of GWC beyond involvement in current events. Has made use of available channels of communication to inform students, faculty, staff, and administration, as appropriate, of college needs and activities. Action: Has demonstrated the ability to work with diverse segments of the college and/or community to present proposals and activities for implementation. Demonstrates a commitment to maintain a firm stance on decisions that are made.
